Sligo Teams Claim Double Shield Victory at Connaught Championships!
Last Saturday, our Sligo A & B County teams travelled to the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon for the inaugural Connacht Championships, and they did not return empty-handed!
Both teams competed fiercely in their respective Round Robin groups against formidable opponents from Leitrim, Roscommon, Galway, and Mayo. After the intense group stages, both teams narrowly missed out on qualifying for the main cup finals, placing them into the Shield competitions.
Rising to the challenge, the Sligo A team faced off against Leitrim A in a nail-biting final. In a keenly contested encounter, they overcame their rivals by the tightest of margins, securing a 7-6 victory to claim the Shield.

Not to be outdone, the Sligo B team also won their shield final, deservedly beating a strong Leitrim side by a convincing scoreline of 7-3. Both teams had some fantastic performances throughout the day, and it was a proud moment for the two teams to return to Sligo with silverware.

A massive well done to both teams and their management for their effort and success. We also extend our thanks to Leitrim County Darts for hosting a really well-run event.
Next up for our county team is a trip to Newcastle West next month for the Limerick Invitational. Let's keep the momentum going!
